So I decided maybe it would be a fun thing to keep myself busy and keep everyone up to date by starting a blog! Our life isn't that interesting in Utah so hopefully it will be here in Connecticut and this blog won't just be a dear diary!
Newel flew in Sunday and his flight went great! It was directly to New York. He sat by a lady from Riverton/Herriman whose son Truman was on Katie's soccer team in elementary school! Small world. The plan was full of 25 people coming to work for RBS! Different teams though. Then he rode the shuttle with his work team to our new apartments!
I flew in yesterday! Flights were good (I drank my far share of sodium, can't resist getting tomato juice) layovers were good, shuttle was as good as a shared shuttle can get (elderly women love the fact that I'm married so young and just go with Newel wherever he goes)!

Our apartments are nice! Of course not as good as it looked online, but nothing ever is! Cooking may be a bit harder when we are here because the kitchen is not quite fully equipped. This apartment was definitely made for a business man who doesn't know how to cook! But we'll make due with what we have! I think we'll just do what Patti said, "just don't even cook while your there, go out to eat for every meal!" We have a Target just down the street so I did some grocery shopping there today.
Newel likes his work. Its probably a 10-15 min. walk, 5 min. shuttle ride, and next week we'll have our bikes! He says the building is awesome! He could basically live there! They have a huge cafeteria with restaurants and a grocery store. They have a dry cleaning place downstairs. They have a gym, at which we are getting memberships because ours here at the apartment are not as nice as we anticipated as well as they have classes at his gym! Score! Yoga every Wednesday night! He likes the people he works with except this one guy who talks to much and can't go a single conversation without talking about his brother at Goldman Sachs. His boss said that they will come to work and work hard the whole time they are there. Sometimes they'll have to be in the office at 5:30. But his boss said whenever they are done with what they need to do and it's not busy he will send them home!
Stamford is treating us well so far! LOTS of restaurants. LOTS of humidity. LOTS of ethnic people, myself included, and hopefully LOTS of fun!!
Bob says: get a lock for your bicycles. Sounds like you are off to a good start! Can't wait for pictures!
