Two things that haven't changed from when I was 6 years old. I still hate when the thick line on your sock doesn't line up with your toes, I could barely even finish my work out because it was bothering me so much. But don't worry I didn't cry this time, fortunately that has changed! I am still afraid of thunder and lightening! I claim it's because I saw lightening hit the ground when I was little. But today when I was walking to Target I walked straight into a storm. A thunder and lightening kind of storm. With an umbrella above my head and skirt held up in my hand I started walking real fast the whole time thinking "I'm definitely going to get struck by lightening!" Unfortunately it's still hot and humid when it rains so you still get sweaty when you speed walk. Lose, lose. This picture was supposed to help my case and show the bad weather, I don't think it does it justice.
I really shouldn't complain though because my rain experience was not as bad as Newel's. Like I said yesterday he was SO excited to ride his bike to work today, which he did. Too bad it was the worst weather day since we've been here! So he was stuck riding his bike home in the pouring rain. I offered to come and pick him up and we could share my umbrella on the way home but he didn't think that was such a good idea.
Our friends came over for a BBQ despite the horrible weather. Katie and Kevin and our new friends Kyle and Ellie. So I decided to make cookies for dessert, good change up from the cleaning. I love making cookies even though I did have to make it from a package this time. Little supplies equals easiest cooking methods possible! Our oven is a little weird too, no preheat light, that's not normal right? Am I supposed to stick my hand in and know it's hot enough? That doesn't seem safe. So I spent a lot of time just staring at the oven hoping my cookies don't burn because there is nothing worse than getting real excited about hot gooey cookies and getting rock hard black cookies.
Inside BBQ was successful. I really like our friends. I hope were not just Connecticut friends and we're friends when we get home. Isn't that just the worst when you meet people in certain environments and they are just awesome and you become great friends and then you take the environment away and there goes the friends. Stinks. I don't think it will be that way though, they're great.
I am loving your blog. I have incorporated it into my bedtime routine. It's step #1. I am also loving all the insight to you....I had no idea you were so scared of thunderstorms! (I have a few scouting tips to help prevent lightening strikes.)
ReplyDeleteLove you!
Love this. Love the new blog. Love youuuuu.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I thought I was your go to. Secondly don't ask husbands if they like a dress, cuz they don't know what looks good. They just don't want to hurt your feelings. So if it makes you look fat, they will never tell you. Which brings me back to that dress, it looks cute on you, like everything. Love the blog. Love you.
ReplyDeleteSis I clearly do not know how to comment on blogs. This is my third attempt. The two others mentioned something like this:
ReplyDeleteCute skirt
Cute blog I like all the pictures
Rude comment about me dressing like a boy. I dress cute.
Also I think dad likes your blog more than mine. He's always liked you more than me. Ever since the day he gave you a Popsicle to eat and me a stick... Congrats
Regardless, I still love you
Girls don't fight. Since its so hot I FedEx a cooler of popcicles to each of you so be looking out for those. I actually forgot to order refrigeration for the Ghana package so when I called fed ex, he said it'll be okay she can just suck on the sticks. So I said, okay cool idea.
ReplyDeleteMom and I think about you every day. And Camie no letters from you friend since you left unfortunately. Love you!!!
